Nazeem Hussain Biography

Comedian and radio personality best recognized as the creator and star of the Australian comedy series Legally Brown. He has also appeared as a presenter for Triple J and starred as Calvin Khan in Comedy Central’s Balls of Steel Australia.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Law from Deakin University. He began performing comedy during his mid-teens.

In 2017, he joined the cast of the Australian version of the reality series I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

His parents grew up in Sri Lanka and, after their marriage, moved to Australia in the 1970s. He is the second of three children and the only son in his family. He married Shaheeda Abdulla in 2015.

Nazeem’s chosen charity was InTouch Multicultural Centre Against Domestic Violence.

Nazeem’s began his career as a stand-up comedian. He won the Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and has twice been nominated for the Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performer. 2019 saw Nazeem perform ‘Basic Idiot’, his fifth consecutive stand-up tour, to his largest audiences ever in every major Australian city. He also supported Aziz Ansari on his 2019 Australia tour.

Nazeem’s latest prime time TV comedy series ‘Orange Is The New Brown’ aired on Channel 7 in late 2018 to overwhelmingly positive reviews.
