Ray Cameron (born Thomas Cameron McIntyre; 19 April 1936 – 27 December 1993) was a Canadian comedian, and the father of British comedian Michael McIntyre.
His son, Michael, grew up believing that Cameron had died of a heart attack. In 2010, he learned it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, in a Hollywood apartment block, at the age of 57. His stepmother, Holly, decided to reveal the secret when McIntyre planned to take part in the BBC genealogy series, Who Do You Think You Are? He publicly responded in 2014, “I’m heartbroken my stepmother has chosen to share painful and personal information publicly.”
