This successful voice actor became known for his work in both the English and Japanese versions of Pokémon, as well as for his contributions to Shaman King, Samurai Deeper Kyo, and other popular anime series.
He made his voice acting debut in the animated television series GaoGaiGar.
While speaking to fans at the 2010 Anime Expo, he mentioned that his favorite voice role was that of Kamina in the anime series Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
He was born and raised in the capital city of Japan’s Wakayama Prefecture.
He and fellow Japanese voice actor Ayumi Fujimura were both represented by the Ken Production talent agency.
Katsuyuki Konishi (小西 克幸 , Konishi Katsuyuki, born April 21, 1973) is a Japanese voice actor from Wakayama, Wakayama. He is affiliated with Ken Production. His debut role was Volfogg/Big Volfogg in GaoGaiGar. He’s mostly known for giving his voice to two tall blonde and strong heroes, Laxus Dreyar from Fairy Tail and Tanktop Master from One Punch Man. He’s also known for voicing the two characters from the same anime, Keigo Asano and Shuhei Hisagi, both from Bleach. Recently, he’s been gaining recognition as Diavolo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind and Tengen Uzui from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
He was the special guest at the 2010 Anime Expo in Los Angeles, USA, where he met his fans and revealed that his favorite anime character was Kamina from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann; also adding that each character whom he voiced is important to him. Konishi was awarded the Best Supporting Actor Award in the 9th Annual Seiyu Awards on March 6, 2015.
