Screenwriter, director, and actress who is best recognized for having written the films Strangled Lives, The Escort, and Little Misunderstandings. She is also known for having written and directed the 1997 feature film Bedrooms.
Her career began as a voice dubbing actress for a range of different foreign films. She went on to win the Nastro d’Argento for Best Dubber. Her debut as a screenwriter came in 1989 when she penned the script for Little Misunderstandings.
Her debut film as a director, Sentimental Maniacs in 1994, earned her the David di Donatella award for Best New Director.
She was born and raised in Rome by her father Renato Izzo who was also a famous voice actor.
She worked alongside actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta on her 1997 directorial endeavor Camere da Letto.

After having appeared as an actress in a number of series and films and having collaborated to a number of screenplays written by her husband Ricky Tognazzi, her debut film Sentimental Maniacs got her the David di Donatello for Best New Director.
From her marriage to singer-songwriter Antonello Venditti, she has a son, Francesco. Since 1995, she has been married to director Ricky Tognazzi.
